What can you expect from parkheuvel's establishment ?

Restaurant Parkheuvel is located in Het Park, not far from the Euromast and right on the river Maas. The modern, round building was designed by architect Klunder in 1988.

The terrace offers unparalleled views of the water and the passing ships. The atmosphere in the Parkheuvel restaurant is intimate. The interior is what you would call cosy art deco. The interior is a choice for quality and comfort and reflects the expert taste of hostess Anja, and her sense of style.

The entrance takes you to the bar with lounge area. The restaurant area itself runs in a playfully circular shape, offering views of the water everywhere. Once seated at the table, all you have to do is relax and enjoy what’s on the table.

What kind of quality food can you expect at Parkheuvel?

“In my kitchen, it’s all about quality. Real food. Taste is knowledge, taste is emotion and feeling, taste is memory. Taste is a quest. As a chef, you have to dive into a dish. Every flavour you taste, you process so that it comes out in the dish to its fullest. With the ambition that you don’t have anything else to make it tastier than this. Cooking is about flavour, giving something of yourself away.

Now that my son Juliën is back in the Netherlands after living in Sydney for a year, he is my right-hand man and Creative Chef in our kitchen. Juliën represents a young generation of successful chefs who are completely dedicated to their work. He wants to constantly develop his skills. With an eye for the latest trends in gastronomy, he brings together classic and modern.

I meet many guests who like to know the story behind the ingredients I use. In my kitchen, only the best is good enough.

To ensure quality, I have now built up long-standing relationships with my suppliers. They know exactly what I want and what my requirements are, they also know what not to bring. We are in the same way in life, we share the same ideas about taste and quality. Something like that grows, time gives flavour and quality intensifies.” Erik van loo
